Many Cariocas dress a lot like Americans from the 80’s, which brought me back to a happier time in life. Dress very casually during the day and be sure to bring your old 80’s clothes (or your parent’s) if you can fit them. Havaianas (Brazilian flip flops), shorts, t-shirt and swim suit is all you really need to wear in the daytime. At night, anything pretty much goes.
